Cam latch spring

The cam latch spring is a steel spring working in the baler group. It is made to the dimensions of the original part.

Where it works

A latch spring keeps the catch in its closed position and returns it after opening. Because it makes small movements continuously under vibration its fatigue advances quietly; when the latch starts closing late, the spring needs replacing.

On a baler the spring takes impact loading on every revolution: the pickup tine strikes the stubble each turn and the knotter makes a full stroke on every bale. What decides service life is fatigue, not static strength.

Dimensions and ordering

The values needed to order are wire diameter, body dimensions, free length and leg form. If you have a sample, a technical drawing or a photograph of the old part, no measuring is needed; the machine make and model is enough for most items.

How it is made

Coiling, tempering, end grinding, coating and packing all happen in our own plant in Biga; no step is outsourced. The coiling line works in the 0.20–40 mm wire range. Tempering after coiling is never skipped — a spring coiled without stress relief loses its free length in the first season.

Yes. Production takes the wire diameter, body dimensions, winding direction and leg form of the original part exactly; it fits without modifying the machine.

I do not have a sample — can I still order?

The machine make and model is enough for most items. Where there is doubt, a photograph of the old spring next to a ruler settles it.

What coating options are available?

Galvanized coating against corrosion is applied as standard. For the rake and hay rake springs in our catalogue we also produce silver, gold and black coated versions.

What is the minimum order quantity?
