Hay Rake Springs
Torsion type wire form springs for hay rakes and tedders. Produced with different leg angles, body lengths and coatings — in silver, gold and black finishes.
About Hay Rake Springs
A hay rake spring is a wire form spring working on the torsion principle: the body coil twists and the leg bends. Its calculation therefore uses the modulus of elasticity rather than the shear modulus, and the leg length determines the spring rate as much as the number of body coils does. Two different legs on the same body make two different springs.
In the field, springs are replaced far more often because they have opened up than because they have broken. As the leg angle widens the tine no longer grips the crop and it starts skimming over the field. That is the sign the material has fatigued; changing a whole row rather than one tine at a time keeps the machine balanced.
Brand-specific production dominates this part of our catalogue: hay rake springs for Krone, Claas, Pöttinger, Massey Ferguson, Gaspardo and Turkish manufacturers are made to the original geometry.
Which machines it fits
The springs in this group are produced to the original dimensions of the machine brands below. If your brand is not listed, we still produce from a sample or from dimensions.

How it is made
Every step after coiling happens in our own plant; nothing is outsourced. This shortens lead times and keeps quality responsibility in one pair of hands.
CNC spring coiling
Formed in the 0.20–40 mm wire range.
Tempering
Stress is relieved and elasticity becomes permanent.
End grinding
Seating faces are flattened on compression springs.
Galvanizing
Surface protection against corrosion.
Packaging
Domestic and international logistics included.
FAQ
How often should hay rake springs be replaced?
When the leg angle has visibly opened, or when the tine tip is worn. Checking a whole row at the start of the season is more practical than dealing with failures in the field.
What is the difference between silver, gold and black coating?
The difference is in surface protection and appearance; the mechanical behaviour of the spring is set by the wire material and heat treatment, not the coating.
Can I order without stating the brand?
If you give the body inner diameter, wire diameter, leg length and leg angle, the brand is not needed. Without those dimensions we match by machine make and model.
Should I buy springs one at a time or as a set?
Fatigue progresses at a similar rate across a row, so changing a row at a time gives a more even result. Single-piece sales are available too.
Can you produce a leg angle different from the original?
Yes — on wire form springs the leg angle is a production parameter and can be set as required.
Can you make a hay rake spring that is not on the list?
Yes. We produce from a sample or a technical drawing; send the dimensions through the quote form.

Cannot find the spring you need?
We produce to your dimensions in the 0.20–40 mm wire range, with no tooling dependency. A sample, a technical drawing, or simply a photograph of the old spring is enough.
