9 mm Gaspardo soil coverer spring
The 9 mm gaspardo soil coverer spring is a steel spring working in the seed drill group, with a wire diameter of 9 mm. It is made to the original dimensions used on Gaspardo type machines.
Where it works
A soil coverer spring presses the closing part onto the furrow after sowing with a steady force. When that force drops the seed is not covered properly and emergence becomes uneven across the field.
On a seed drill the job of the spring is to hold sowing depth constant. The opener shoe spring stops the shoe riding up as soil hardness changes; the coverer spring presses the closing part down with a steady force.
Dimensions and ordering
Wire diameter is 9 mm. The other values needed to order are the body dimensions, the free length and the leg form; these can be taken from a photograph of the old part or from the machine make and model. If you have a sample, that is the most exact route.

How it is made
Coiling, tempering, end grinding, coating and packing all happen in our own plant in Biga; no step is outsourced. The coiling line works in the 0.20–40 mm wire range. Tempering after coiling is never skipped — a spring coiled without stress relief loses its free length in the first season.
