Krone Springs
Pickup and rake springs for Krone type baler and hay rake groups — produced to original geometry as torsion type form springs.
Krone items in our catalogue
Our catalogue carries two items for Krone type machines: a pickup spring in the baler group and a rake spring in the hay rake group. Both are torsion type form springs.
In a torsion spring the body coil twists and the leg bends. That means the calculation uses the modulus of elasticity rather than the shear modulus; in practice it means leg length determines stiffness just as directly as the number of body coils. Two different legs on the same body mean two different springs — which is why leg length and leg angle matter as much as wire diameter when ordering.
Coil direction is a rule in this family, not a preference. The spring must be loaded in the direction it was wound; run the other way, the body diameter opens, the coils loosen on the shaft and life falls noticeably. When a pickup spring breaks early the cause is more often fitting it the wrong way round than the material.
Some of the torsion spring photographs in our gallery show items suited to Krone type machines; different leg forms, body lengths and coating options can be seen there. Coating is for surface protection and appearance — the mechanical properties of the spring are set by the wire material and the heat treatment.

How it is made
Every step after coiling happens in our own plant; nothing is outsourced. This shortens lead times and keeps quality responsibility in one pair of hands.
CNC coiling
Formed across the 0.20–40 mm wire range.
Tempering
Stress is relieved; elasticity becomes permanent.
End grinding
Seating faces are flattened on compression springs.
Galvanising
Surface protection against corrosion.
Packing
Domestic and export logistics included.
Frequently asked questions
What type of spring is a Krone pickup spring?
A torsion type form spring: the body coil twists and the leg bends. Leg length and leg angle directly determine its stiffness.
Can I order without specifying the brand?
Yes. Given body inside diameter, wire diameter, leg length and leg angle, brand information is not needed.
What happens if the spring is fitted the wrong way round?
The body diameter opens, the coils loosen on the shaft and life falls noticeably. A torsion spring must always be loaded in the direction it was wound.
What coating options are available?
Hay rake and tine springs are produced with silver, gold and black finishes; galvanised coating is applied as standard.
Can you make a Krone spring that is not in the list?
Yes. We produce from a sample, a technical drawing or dimensions; our coiling line works without tooling dependency.

About the brand names
Metiş Yay is an independent spring manufacturer. The machine brand names on these pages are used solely to indicate which machines our products fit; they do not imply any authorised dealership, distributorship or official association with any brand. All brand names belong to their respective owners.
Cannot find the spring you need?
We produce to your dimensions in the 0.20–40 mm wire range, with no tooling dependency. A sample, a technical drawing, or simply a photograph of the old spring is enough.
