John Deere items in our catalogue

The items under this make work in two very different places. One is in the field, in the pickup group of a baler; the other two are in the cab, in the suspension of the tractor seat. They sit together not because of a shared mechanical trait but because they turn up in the same machine fleet.

The pickup spring sits in our catalogue as an item shared with Hammer. The reason is that the dimensions coincide: a spare part is a question of dimensions, not of badge. The job of the spring is the same on both machines — press the tine onto the crop — and when it fatigues the first sign is loss of free length, not breakage.

The seat springs are a different world. In a suspension seat the spring carries the operator and absorbs what comes up from the field. Once it loses free length the seat starts bottoming out on rough ground and the shaking through the day increases directly. A seat spring is therefore a part replaced when it is noticed to have sagged, not one waited on until it breaks.

For seat springs the series is what decides: our 5M item stands separately for the 5075M–5115M range, while the Grammer seat item is shared with New Holland. Where there is doubt, a photograph of the old part next to a ruler settles the match, because it shows wire diameter and free length together.

How it is made

Every step after coiling happens in our own plant; nothing is outsourced. This shortens lead times and keeps quality responsibility in one pair of hands.

01

CNC coiling

Formed across the 0.20–40 mm wire range.

02

Tempering

Stress is relieved; elasticity becomes permanent.

03

End grinding

Seating faces are flattened on compression springs.

04

Galvanising

Surface protection against corrosion.

05

Packing

Domestic and export logistics included.

Frequently asked questions

Is the same pickup spring used for both John Deere and Hammer?

It sits as a single item in our catalogue because the dimensions coincide. A spare part is a question of dimensions, not of badge; as long as the dimensions match, it fits.

How do I know a seat spring needs replacing?

The clearest sign is the seat starting to bottom out on rough ground. The measurable check is comparing free length with the original; there is no need to wait for breakage.

Which range does the 5M item cover?

Our catalogue lists it as 5075M–5115M. For a seat outside that range you need to send dimensions; the series name alone is not enough.

What should I send to order a seat spring?

Seat type, the series if you have it, and the dimensions of the old part: wire diameter, outside diameter, free length and number of coils. A sample or a photograph next to a ruler is the most exact route.

Can you make a John Deere spring that is not on the list?

Yes. Our coiling line works in the 0.20–40 mm wire range with no tooling dependency; we produce from a sample, a technical drawing or a set of dimensions.

About the brand names

Metiş Yay is an independent spring manufacturer. The machine brand names on these pages are used solely to indicate which machines our products fit; they do not imply any authorised dealership, distributorship or official association with any brand. All brand names belong to their respective owners.

Cannot find the spring you need?

We produce to your dimensions in the 0.20–40 mm wire range, with no tooling dependency. A sample, a technical drawing, or simply a photograph of the old spring is enough.
