Laverda items in our catalogue

Laverda appears in this catalogue with two items, both combine harvester pickup springs: a new model and an old model. Two parts doing the same job sit as separate items because their dimensions differ. In this group the critical step before ordering is settling which version is needed.

The pickup spring works in the tine group that lifts the crop from the windrow into the header, and it turns continuously through harvest. What decides service life here is not one-off strength but fatigue after millions of small cycles. Tempering after coiling is therefore never skipped: a spring coiled without stress relief loses its free length in the first harvest.

Fatigue in this group shows first as loss of free length and a widening leg angle, not as breakage. When the tine no longer presses hard enough on the crop, material is left in the windrow; the operator often reads this as a header setting, while the thing to measure is the free length of the spring.

The surest way to tell the new model from the old one is the old part itself. If a sample cannot be sent, a photograph of the part next to a ruler settles the match, because it shows wire diameter, body dimension and leg form together. The make alone is not enough here, since the two versions carry different dimensions.

How it is made

Every step after coiling happens in our own plant; nothing is outsourced. This shortens lead times and keeps quality responsibility in one pair of hands.

01

CNC coiling

Formed across the 0.20–40 mm wire range.

02

Tempering

Stress is relieved; elasticity becomes permanent.

03

End grinding

Seating faces are flattened on compression springs.

04

Galvanising

Surface protection against corrosion.

05

Packing

Domestic and export logistics included.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether I need the new or the old model?

The surest route is the old part: send a sample, or photograph it next to a ruler. The two versions sit as separate items in our catalogue because their dimensions differ.

Why does a pickup spring weaken mid-harvest?

Fatigue. The pickup group turns continuously through harvest; the spring does not break under a single overload, it loses free length after many small cycles.

Crop is left in the windrow — could the spring be the cause?

It can be. A fatigued spring cannot press the tine hard enough on the crop. Quick check: compare the free length of the spring with the original.

What should I send to order?

Wire diameter, body inner diameter, free length and leg form are enough. A sample is the most exact route; failing that, a photograph next to a ruler works.

Can you make a Laverda spring that is not on the list?

Yes. Our coiling line works in the 0.20–40 mm wire range with no tooling dependency; we produce from a sample, a technical drawing or a set of dimensions.

About the brand names

Metiş Yay is an independent spring manufacturer. The machine brand names on these pages are used solely to indicate which machines our products fit; they do not imply any authorised dealership, distributorship or official association with any brand. All brand names belong to their respective owners.

Cannot find the spring you need?

We produce to your dimensions in the 0.20–40 mm wire range, with no tooling dependency. A sample, a technical drawing, or simply a photograph of the old spring is enough.
