New Holland items in our catalogue

The New Holland items in our catalogue sit in the baler group: short and long versions of the pickup spring, the baler spring, and the TC series harvester spring.

The pickup spring is among the highest-cycle parts on a baler. The tine strikes stubble on every revolution, and it is fatigue life rather than static strength that governs. Failure in these springs usually begins as opening rather than breakage — as the leg angle widens the tine no longer takes a full bite and pickup performance falls.

The distinction between the short and long versions matters at assembly: when leg length changes, so does the moment needed for the same angle, and with it the stiffness of the spring. A spring running with a leg other than the original opens faster than expected. Stating which version you need when ordering is therefore necessary.

Replacing pickup springs a row at a time is common practice. Springs working along the same row see similar loads over a similar number of cycles and fatigue at a similar rate; if one has broken, its neighbours are close behind.

How it is made

Every step after coiling happens in our own plant; nothing is outsourced. This shortens lead times and keeps quality responsibility in one pair of hands.

01

CNC coiling

Formed across the 0.20–40 mm wire range.

02

Tempering

Stress is relieved; elasticity becomes permanent.

03

End grinding

Seating faces are flattened on compression springs.

04

Galvanising

Surface protection against corrosion.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the short and long pickup springs?

Leg length differs, and that changes stiffness directly: the longer the leg, the lower the moment needed for the same angle. State which version you need when ordering.

The pickup spring has not broken but performance has dropped — should I replace it?

Yes. In torsion type pickup springs, fatigue appears as opening before breakage; the spring can look sound while no longer doing its job.

Do you also make the TC series harvester spring?

Yes, it is a separate item in our catalogue.

Should I replace springs one at a time?

Springs along the same row fatigue at a similar rate, so replacing the row keeps the machine working evenly. Single-part sales are also available.

Can parts be identified without an original part number?

Yes. The model of the machine and the position of the part are usually enough; a photograph of the old spring next to a ruler makes the match certain.

About the brand names

Metiş Yay is an independent spring manufacturer. The machine brand names on these pages are used solely to indicate which machines our products fit; they do not imply any authorised dealership, distributorship or official association with any brand. All brand names belong to their respective owners.

Cannot find the spring you need?

We produce to your dimensions in the 0.20–40 mm wire range, with no tooling dependency. A sample, a technical drawing, or simply a photograph of the old spring is enough.
